New Account Checklist - Training

A task list for pet training businesses looking to set up their BusyPaws account. Includes links to relevant help articles.

There are a lot of functionalities to explore when first configuring your BusyPaws account. We have created this guide to help make the onboarding process easier by giving you a list of steps to work through as you get your account set up. Each step included in this list references any relevant help articles that may assist you and your team. Click the name of any article (shown in blue) to navigate to that page and get more details about that process. As you begin to work through the steps, feel free to reach out to our team with any questions or concerns!

  1. Determine what types of training services you need to set up. This can include:

    1. Individual (i.e. one-on-one) training services.

    2. One-off group training services (i.e. workshops).

    3. Set enrollment classes (i.e. the same group of students starting and ending at the same time).

    4. Open enrollment (sometimes called rolling enrollment) group classes.

  2. Set up one or more one-on-one training services (if applicable).

  3. Set your default schedule & assign it to your individual training service(s).

  4. Set up your group classes (if applicable)

    1. If you offer set enrollment classes (i.e. clients sign up for a set session, with the same group of students starting and ending at the same time), create a group training service then use it to build a series.

    2. If you offer rolling, or open enrollment classes (i.e. clients can sign up to start at any time), create a group training service then configure its open enrollment settings.

  5. Add group training bookings to your calendar.

  6. Create a basic intake form.

    1. Add custom attributes for any custom client or pet data you want to have form submissions update automatically (vaccines, temperament, etc.).

    2. Build an intake form using default and custom fields.

  7. Set up the self-booking settings for your service(s).

    1. Turn on the Publicly listed toggle to add the service/series to your public services list.

    2. Assign the intake form to ensure clients booking for the first time fill it out.

  8. Check your global booking window and cancellation settings.

  9. Try testing the client self-booking process through your Public Booking Portal.

When you're ready, you can begin managing payments and configuring automatic invoicing by adding Stripe to your account.

  1. Choose the payment settings for your services.

  2. Begin processing payments online!
