A subscription is your key to accessing everything that BusyPaws has to offer. The BusyPaws team understands that every pet care business is different, and so has multiple different subscription levels available. From solo proprietors and those just starting out to those managing large teams, there is a subscription level to suit every business' needs. In this guide we will take a look at how you may purchase or make changes to your subscription, and explore the details of each subscription level.

Subscribing to BusyPaws
Once you've decided that BusyPaws works well for you and your business, the next step is to subscribe to a paid plan! This can be done easily from the Billing page of your account. First click or hover your mouse over your profile photo icon in the bottom-left corner of any page on your BusyPaws account.
Then select "Billing" from the account menu.
When on a paid plan, the Billing page will include information about your subscription, including the level to which you have subscribed, your past invoices, and the number of seats (users) on your account. While on a free trial plan, this page will include the available options for subscription. Note that the available subscription levels will change depending on what you have set up on your account at the time of subscription.
Solo | For businesses that require only one user for their account. Includes only one user seat with no ability to add more seats without upgrading to the Team plan.
Will be unavailable if you have 2 or more users or facilities on your account. |
Team | For small teams. Includes 3 regular users with the option of adding extra seats for an additional charge each. Allows for adding regular and/or lite seats.
Will be unavailable if you have 2 or more facilities on your account. |
Business | For larger teams and those with multiple brick and mortar locations. Includes unlimited users (regular and lite seats). Has the option of adding additional facilities for an additional charge each. |

Marketing messaging involves an additional monthly charge for those businesses that choose to use it. SMS messaging may incur additional charges based on business location and usage. For more information, see our guides on Email Campaign Pricing and SMS Pricing.
The subscription options for Team and Business plans on your Billing page also include choices for monthly or annual billing. Solo plans are available for annual payments only after at least two months of subscription.
We strongly recommend all businesses start with a monthly plan until they are confident that they will be happy using BusyPaws in the long run, at which point they may switch to the annual plan.

Changing Your Subscription
If at any point you wish to change your subscription level, simply head to your account's Billing page. There you will find information on your current plan as well as the other available plans listed with their pricing and a breakdown of the included benefits for each. The default pricing listed is that applicable for your existing payment schedule (annual or monthly). If you wish to change your billing frequency use the "Monthly" or "Yearly" buttons to adjust the plan options prior to selecting "Subscribe".
After you have chosen the appropriate billing frequency, click the "Subscribe" button beneath the plan to which you want to change.
If you choose to upgrade your plan partway through your current pay period, the price will be prorated for the period between your upgrade and your next payment. Additionally, should you choose to switch from monthly to annual billing partway through a given pay period, you will be given credit for any remaining period on your current subscription.
If you choose to downgrade your subscription level (i.e. Business to Team) the level change will take effect at the start of your next billing period.
The available subscription levels will vary depending on your current account setup. Much like at the time of initial subscription, the Team plan is unavailable if you have more than one facility on your account.

Adding Seats and/or Facilities
Every user on your account requires a seat. The number of seats included on your plan varies depending on the subscription level you have chosen. If you are subscribed to the Team plan, your Billing page will have a button labelled "Add Seat". Similarly, if you are subscribed to a Business plan you will have an "Add Facilities/Sub-Accounts" button.
That will take you to the Update Subscription page, where you can easily adjust the number of seats/facilities on your account using the up/down arrows next to each field. This process allows you not only to add seats/facilities to your account but also reduce the number as needed. Keep in mind that only Business level plans are able to adjust the number of facilities.
Once you've made your desired adjustments, the prorated charge will be listed at the bottom of the page in addition to the new monthly/yearly charge due on your next billing date.
Regular seats are used for Manager/Business Owner and Employee level users, while Lite users require lite seats. All additional seats and facilities not included in your base plan are associated with an additional charge (priced per additional seat/facility). If seats/facilities are added partway through a billing period, the price charged at the time of the addition will be prorated to reflect only the time remaining before the next subscription payment.

Canceling Your BusyPaws Subscription
Though we work hard to make BusyPaws great, we understand that our software may not be the right fit for every business. If ever you are having trouble with any of the functionalities, please don't hesitate to reach out to our team for assistance and/or to provide feedback. Should you decide that you wish to close your account with us, you can cancel your subscription at any time from your Billing page.
Simply navigate to your Billing page and locate the "Cancel Subscription" button beneath the "Upgrade Plan" button.
Clicking this button cancels your subscription to BusyPaws. Following cancellation, your account will remain active until the end of your current billing period. At that time, your business' account will be set to inactive and you will no longer be able to access any of your data.
Should you accidentally cancel your subscription or cancel then later change your mind, you can easily resubscribe and reactive your account. If your account is still active and simply set to deactivate on your next billing date just click the "Reactivate Account" button on your Billing page.
If your account has been set to Inactive, you need only choose a plan and switch back to a paid subscription to regain access to your data.
