Though the recommended method for allowing your clients to book services with you is to make them publicly available (i.e. available for booking through your business' Public Booking Portal), there are cases where you may find yourself wishing to provide clients with direct access to a service, or even direct access to a specific booking.
Direct links for services and for scheduled group bookings allow clients to self-register regardless of the public listing status for the service. While all services and series have their own direct link, only group bookings have booking-specific direct links available.
In this guide we will take a look at where you can find the direct links for your services and bookings, whether to send directly to your clients or integrate into your website.
For more information about the general links and integrations available, check out our guide on Using Links & Website Integrations.
Service Direct Links
All services and series have their own direct link. Following a service's direct link takes a customer straight to the date-selection step in the booking process for that service. This allows clients to forego the service-selection step, and even book services that are not publicly available (i.e. not listed on the public services list). These links can be found both on the main Services page as well as on each service/series settings page.
From the main Services page, select the "Direct Link" button for any listed service or series to copy the URL to your clipboard.
If you wish to embed direct access to book a service on your website, you may also click the "Embed Code" button to get the code needed for the direct website embed. For more information on using website embeds, check out our guide on Using Links & Website Integrations.
If you have classes set up as series, be sure to use the direct link/website embed for the series, not the link for the service from which the series is built.
The Direct Link and Embed Code buttons are also accessible from the settings page for each service or series. After selecting the service/series name on your Services page, scroll down to the Links & Integrations card.
Booking Direct Links
If you wish to instead provide a customer with access to register for a group class or booking scheduled for a specific date and time, you may choose to provide them with the booking's direct link. Much like the service/series direct link, a booking's direct link takes the customer straight to the date-selection step in the booking process, however instead of seeing all upcoming times they will see only the one option listed. Booking-specific links also provide clients with access to book regardless of the service's public listing status.
You can find the direct link for any scheduled group booking beneath the service name on the booking's information page. First, locate and select the booking on your main calendar.
Then click "Direct Booking Link" at the top of the page to copy the URL to your clipboard.
This booking option is ideal in cases where your team wishes to have a client register for a specific date/time, but still have the customer complete their intake form and submit payment at the time of registration. Rather than manually registering a client, then sending them the required form, and generating their invoice for them, your team can simply send them the booking's direct link and the customer can complete all forms and payments through the automated self-booking process.
Important to Note
Booking-specific links are available only for group bookings as individual bookings are assigned to specific customers during scheduling.
A booking must be self-bookable for clients to be able to register themselves via its direct link. This means:
The booking must be scheduled within your available booking window.
There must be spots available in the booking.
For open enrollment classes, there must be sufficient spots available in the subsequent classes to allow the client to register for the full set.
If ever you are unsure why your group booking's direct link is not working, check out the steps discussed in our FAQ guide, Why is my group service/series showing no available booking times?
Links for Packages & Memberships
Much like services and series, every package and membership has its own direct link. Customers accessing those direct links will be able to purchase the associated package or membership, regardless of its status. It is therefore often easiest to provide your clients access to your packages and memberships through your public portals, as that flow allows you to temporarily remove access to any specific package/membership when needed.
Clicking the "Copy Link" button for any package on your Package Management page will copy the URL for that package to your clipboard.
When a customer follows a package's direct link, they will be taken to a Package Purchasing Portal where only that one package is listed. They can then select the package and enter their payment information to make their purchase. Note that customers can purchase a package through its direct link regardless of whether it is published or not.
Likewise, the "Copy Link" button for any membership on your Membership Management page will copy that membership's URL to your clipboard.
When a customer accesses a membership's direct link, they will be taken to the first step in the registration process for that membership. They can then proceed through registration and payment to confirm their subscription. Note that customers can register for a membership through its direct link regardless of its public listing status.
Though your public portals provide your clients with the simplest access to book with your business, there are cases where you may find yourself needing to provide more tailored support to your customers. Use service links or booking-specific links to help guide your clients to self-register for the service or booking that best suits their needs.
