Kennel cards are a great way to track important information about dogs that may be staying with you for boarding bookings. There are two places from which kennel cards may be printed, the pet's booking information page, and the main Feed & Care page.
A pet's kennel card in BusyPaws will display:
Their photo
Their name
The name of their pet parent
Their pet parent's phone number (if one is available)
The name of the service for which they are booked
Their drop-off date/time and their pickup date/time
The kennel in which they are booked
Their AM & PM feeding instructions
Their AM & PM medicine instructions
Any kennel card notes that have been added.
Note that changes to a pet's kennel card can be made from their booking's information page only.
Booking Information Page
Booking information pages include a variety of details about the booking including it's scheduled dates, associated client, invoices, messages, and more. This page is accessed by selecting the booking anywhere it is listed, including:
On your main Calendar or Boarding & Daycare Calendar
On the client's profile or pet's profile
On any linked invoice
On the Feed & Care tab of the Boarding & Daycare Calendar
After opening the booking's information page, locate the information tabs just below the booking's status.
The Feed & Care icon is found on the leftmost tab for any boarding-type booking. Select it to navigate to that tab.
With the Feed & Care tab open, you will have access to not only print the kennel card but make edits to its contents as well. The Feed AM, Feed PM, Medicine AM, and Medicine PM fields may be used to enter morning and evening feeding/medication instructions. Use the Notes section at the top of the tab to add any additional information that is pertinent to the dog's boarding stay.
If the boarding booking has multiple pets assigned, this tab will also include buttons allowing you to navigate between the kennel card details for each pet. The selected pet's name displays in purple.
Click the printer icon at the top-right corner of the Feed & Care tab to generate a printable PDF copy of the kennel card.
Main Feed & Care Page
Kennel cards can also be accessed directly from the main Feed & Care list for all pets booked in at your facility. Navigate to that list by first hovering your mouse over the Schedule icon in the lefthand menu then selecting "Boarding & Daycare" from the pop-up menu.
From there, select the "Feed & Care" tab.
This page displays a full list of boarding pets scheduled for the displayed date. Pets are organized alphabetically within their assigned kennels and split between pets that have feeding/medication instructions and those without.
This tab will always default to the current date. To see information for pets on past/future dates, use the date selector options at the top-right of the page. Click the forward or back arrows to navigate one day at a time or click the listed date in the centre to choose a specific date from the calendar drop-down.
Click the "Kennel Card" button for any listed pet to generate a printable PDF copy of the kennel card.
If the pet has any notes added to their kennel card, you can also click the "Notes" button to quickly view that information.
