This guide refers to the customer-facing Private Client Portal. This is a page specifically intended for use by a business' clients, not a page generally used by their staff. The login set for the Private Client Portal is not the same as the login set for team members accessing the business' BusyPaws account.
The Client Portal allows clients to access and edit some basic information listed on their profile, including their current contact information, pet information, bookings, and existing credits. To be able to access this information however, customers must first create a password for their account. Additionally, clients must have a password to be able to use any of their available service or add-on credits during the self-booking process. This is true whether clients are booking using the Client Portal or the Public Booking Portal.
Only customers with existing profiles on your account will be able to log into the Client Portal. New customers must book using the public portal or submit an intake form to create an account for themselves. Otherwise, the will need to have a profile created by you and your team.
Customers accessing the Client Portal will be greeted by the login screen.
Before a client can access any of their information, they must create a password for their account. This is done by selecting the "Set/Reset Password" button. Customers can also use this button to reset their password if they forget it.
This will open the Set/Reset Password screen, where the client can enter their email address and click the "Set/Reset Password" button to receive an email with the link to create or reset their password. Note that a client's account is linked to their email. Existing clients should use the same email they have listed on their current profile (i.e. the email they used for any previous bookings with you). Using an email not yet associated with a Customer Profile will result in an error message prompting them to reach out to your team.
Following the link in the Password Reset email will take the client to the form for setting up their new password. Entering their desired password in both fields and selecting the "Set Password & Login" button will update their login information and log them into their Client Portal account.
If ever a customer is having a hard time logging in or using their available credits, you can easily check whether they have created a password. To do this, navigate to their Customer Profile page. From there, locate the "Contact Details" section. If the customer has previously created a password, there will be a green checkmark next to "Client Portal Password Set".
If the customer has not yet set a password, that line will instead be listed with a grey prohibition sign.
