Customers cannot choose to make a partial invoice payment from their end, however users can manually configure partial payments if they wish. This can be done manually in two different ways:
To automate your process, services may also be configured to collect a deposit during self-booking.
Requesting Partial Payment
If you wish to send an invoice to a client for payment, but do not need or want to collect the full invoice value right away, you can request a partial payment. To do this, start by navigating to the invoice's information page and clicking the "Actions" button at the top-right corner. From there, select "Request Payment" from the drop-down menu.
This will open a pop-up with field that can be used to set the payment amount. The field defaults to the total remaining on the invoice, but can be adjusted to any value less than that. When you're ready, click the "Request Payment" button to send it to the client for payment.
Charging a Stored Card
If the customer has a stored card saved to their profile, users can manually put partial payments through on their invoices. To do this, start by navigating to the invoice's information page and clicking the "Process Payment" button at the top.
This will open up a pop-up with various manual payment options. To charge the client's stored card make sure that the Payment Type is set to "Credit" and the "Process via Stripe" toggle is turned on (purple). You should see the client's stored card listed as well as a "New Card" button that can be used to add another stored card.
The "Amount" field at the top of the pop-up defaults to the total remaining on the invoice, but can be adjusted to any value less than that.
When you're ready, click the "Process Payment" button to charge the stored card.
